...by any other name?

Occasionally a Rose turns out to not be so rosy. Devoid of scent, armed with barbarous thorns, full of aphids and yet a thing of beauty...from afar. Can we accept it for what it is and that it adds to the landscape? Well, of course we can. But would we choose to add it into our intimate garden space with our highly scented, long-flowering, carefully selected, healthy species? Perhaps not.

Roses in our garden are akin to people in our lives. We can have a packed garden overgrown with plants vying for attention and light, needing constant pruning, dead-heading and maintenence, or we can be selective of those we love and which give us pleasure just being there. Less is more.

Real people who only bring love are to be welcomed into your garden where you can nurture the few with joy and mutual respect. There is no space and no time to be wasted on clones and fakes, on virtual impressions and duplicity. Enjoy those who turn up in person, present, engaging, warm and loving.

Spring is almost upon us with all the new growth and life energy.
