The Love that you are

Many people venerate St Valentine on 14th February, just as others celebrate Valentine’s Day, whist there are those that do neither. Some celebrate with a loved one and others on their own. The commonality is the traditional association with love and those seeking it. Before we are able to give any love, we have to have sufficient for ourselves and more, so this day is a good time to ask ourselves how much we have.

Self-love is not to be confused with Narcissism, self-importance or selfishness. Rather, it is the recognition of all that you are. If you were taught to always put others first and yourself last, this can be difficult to reconcile. In this competitive, sometimes greedy, materialistic and selfish world we have created for ourselves, it is easy to forget who we really are. It is a false reality separating us from our true original nature.

This separation is brought about by fear. The basis of all our difficulties is rooted in fear. We have been taught more about fear than anything else since birth. It’s time to re-connect with the heart today! The heart does not lie and has no fear. Fear is only in the mind. Connect to the love from the heart and feel the freedom, the self-expression and the passion.

Where there is true love, there is no room for fear.

Happy Valentine’s!
