Tranquility

We each have our own vision of our idyl. We tell ourselves it’s unobtainable, unsustainable and unreal. Yet, what is it that we seek? An escape from our everyday troubles, worries, fears and dreads? So, what are we trying to run away from?

Life, we are told, has its ups and downs. Much of this is of our own making, but we do not always understand that we have the power to change this state of affairs. In fact, it is our own state that is key. This is something we can control. It is the only thing we can control!

In this hectic way of life we have created for one another, there never seems time for ourselves – the self. Other people’s needs, wishes, demands or desires come before our own.

The greatest gift I ever gave myself was time. Time to breathe, to stop, to rest…to just be. It is not time to read or be entertained or to do anything. Just be. To be introspective and find inner peace. Finding tranquillity is very restorative. This inner place and connection with the self is an attainable, sustainable and eternal idyl.
